What Currency Does Ecuador Use?

Back in the early 2000s Ecuador went through a crisis and ended up switching to the US dollar. You will see all different forms of monedas (coins) here in Ecuador. While the US does not use the half and whole dollar coins anymore, Ecuador still does. You will find more dollar coins than you will dollar bills here. Ecuador has also made their own dime and nickel. They still use the dime and nickel of the US, but they also have their added bonus.

Having the US dollar makes things easy if transferring from banks in the US or other countries that use the US dollar.
